The well marked female Marsh Harrier was quartering over the marsh at Marloes Mere early this afternoon. As Sash said (see post below) it has very tatty primaries - presumably in full moult. The tail is also in quite a bad state. From the photo on the right it is a wonder it can fly but I watched it for half an hour or so over the Mere and it was flying okay although it did not appear to catch anything.
