Snow buntings seem to be popping up all over the place this winter and what used to be (for me at least) a rarity seems to be a regular facet of my winter birding these days. Which I suppose is one way of getting around to justifying the sad little play on words, I could not resist for a title. Thing is they are such a delight and I don't get bored with them, particularly when they are into a game of hide and seek! The first picture is, I am pretty sure, of 2 snow buntings but the first one disappeared leaving the second cracking male to show off on his own. It/they were on the outer breakwater this afternoon as well as five Ringed Plover and two Purple Sandpiper.
Snow bored?
