A live little egret at Cresswell Quay this morning was feeding not far from the corpse of another lying in the muddy channel at low water - presumably it died over-night - cold weather mortality?
A red kite was circling over Stackpole Home Farm around about lunch time. A few snipe were also noted to be feeding this morning along damp country road-side verges. I have often seen them over the years in such places during hard weather (in sheltered damp places/ditches where there is less frost). Quite a few fieldfares on the Range today in small flocks but so far not many redwing flocks of note.
The leucistic coot, photographed by Richard, has been on Bosherston Lakes for at least a month now, possibly longer.
