Just between Newport and Dinas is a valley which crosses the main road. A couple of years ago driving home in the dark I just missed (by inches) a Tawney Owl as it shot across the road in front of me . On our way to Newquay I noticed a bundle of feathers on the road in the same place maybe the same bird maybe not but either way its luck had run out. Its in my freezer if its of interest/use to anybody.
