Strumble (27 Mar 11)

Thanks Steve - good to know. I have not seen Dartfords in this county since 2008 so I will continue my fruitless searching! Meanwhile at Strumble this afternoon at least 8 Wheatears around the headlands and a Red Kite circling over the lookout with prey. It was mobbed at one point by a Buzzard but the flying prowess of the kite made the Buzzard look very average - and it realised that and made a hasty retreat. The kite meanwhile was playing with its food - circling up, dropping its catch, then stooping down to re-catch it before it hit the ground. It did this at least 4 times as I watched it. (Unfortunately I was a bit too far away for a photo!)
