Kilpaisson this am;-
Our first Constant Effort Site ringing session of the 2008 season this am.
What a start!!
The above Portugese ring on a Chiffchaff!
A good variety & number of birds this am, a quick comparison with last years first session show higher nos. of most warbler species particularly Reed & Willow Warblers, early days though.
Also present c.30 Whimbrel, 1 Turnstone, 5 Dunlin, small nos. of Ringed Plover heard.

Lapwings;-
A thorough viewing of the bunds showed that we still have 5 pairs nesting(2 pr's predated?).
1 very young Lapwing seen today, other females sitting.

Pembroke Upper Mill Pond;-
Last night 30 Black-tailed Godwits & 4 Greenshank.
Late news; from c.26/04 -- 30/04 a pair of Garganey present.
