Info Post
Not unexpectedly, spring migration as observed from The Deck is rapidly dropping off. In fact , it might be more accurate to say that following Bank Holiday Monday, a curtain was brought down across the headland.

Our records show on the 2nd the last of the Sandwhich Terns (4) passed through Whitesands Bay. There was a good passage of Sand Martins between the 31st March to 4th May (double figures most days). None were recorded after 4th May. House Martins peaked on the 5th behind the clearance of sea fog, a hundred or more that day. The last of the White Wagtails (7) went through on the 4th. Swallows are down to dawn to dusk trickle. Whimblel have been recorded daily since 23rd April. There was a flock of 9 opposite the caravan yesterday, 7th. And likewise, Wheatear, they can always be found around the headland.
