Spotted at 8.50 this morning on telegraph wires along the hedgebank/bridleway west of Pantmaenog House SN081308. Innocently spooked by a couple of walkers who walked right underneath its perch. It flew off westward settling on tree remains and then onto telegraph wire. It remained there until 9.25, when I went on my way. On return at 10am it was back on orignal perch on the telegraph wires by the paddock then moving freely from fence post to conifer in the area it (assuming its the returning bird) favoured last year. Best viewed from the track that leads up to the private drive down to Pantmaenog House to avoid disturbing it. Great views of its bold markings in the bright conditions.
A few crossbills here, 2 Red Kites over Scolton on the way.
