Starling Flock

We have seen several small flocks of starlings over the last week or two, but in another sign of advancing autumn, yesterday evening we had a flock of several thousand birds flying SE over Withybush Woods, viewed from north of the airfield. The flock was dense and over a kilometre long. Perhaps they were heading for the Slebech reed beds?
