Info Post
Very blustery - loose flocks of pipits and linnet along the walk. 2 chough, 2 stonechat and 20 plus swallows skimming the waves alongside a gannet off St Nons. Little showing in Porthclais apart from robins, dunnock and blackbirds. Grey wagtail by the bridge. Some good looking recently sown fields above Porthclais but only gulls. Porthlysgi - scrub full of birds, mostly tits, pipits and linnet. On the beach a dozen Rock pipits, a curlew, 2 oystercatchers, 2 turnstone and a dunlin. Buzzard on cliff face. 30 mallard on pond at Treginnis, 3 stonechat and wheatear. Dozen or more Choughs in groups of up to 5 along Ramsey Sound, couple of stonechat. A Manx shearwater(?) flashed through heading south. Grizzly sight of two BB gulls 'surfing' on the bodies of two deceased seal pups just south of lifeboat station. On return group of 25 feral pigeons huddled on cliff face out of wind, and around the corner a pair of peregrines out on the prowl heading their way! Highlight were the porpoises putting on a show with up to 4 riding the waves together and bursting out of the white water south end of Ramsey Sound at midday. Spectacular stuff. Counted 7 adult seals and 3 well-grown pups in the coves.
