On Bank Holiday Monday a Ringtail soared high above Pencarnan Caravan Park. We couldn't quite get enough on it. It's hand was narrower than the arm, and it's tail was proportionately long for a Hen Harrier. If we'd claimed a Monty's, Jon Green would have demanded a full description, but at 600` it was asking too much. So we binned it, which was a great pity. It would have been a mega for the Deck List!
P.S. Earlier the same morning, when in company with Jonathon Bennett and Byron, and walking up the Bocca Valley in dense sea fog, a Ringtail appeared briefly before us, but alas, also went unidentified. The same bird?
Listing brings disappointment
