Info Post
Besides the usual Bullfinches and G.S. Woodpecker there was a large mixed Tit flock in Nine Wells valley this morning, including Long-tailed Tits,a Marsh Tit and 2 Goldcrests, which seem to be a bit on the scarce side of late. On the subject of bird demographics Blue Tits are noticeably numerous this Autumn. We have up to ten on our bird feeders most days, in spite of the attentions of our local Sparrowhawk. A plastic mesh put round the feeders hasn't proved to be much of a deterrent against this determined marauder.
