Info Post
I have spent (wasted?) quite a lot of time on the Western Cleddau in the last 4 days, fishing a large amount of the water from Haverfordwest up to Wolfscastle.
Sad to relate, not once have I seen a Kingfisher, and this on water where, in 2009, I estimated a pair nested at least every 2km of river.
It may be that I have just missed them all (although I have seen none earlier in the year either); I fear this is the result of two hard winters in a row.
The good news is several dippers were seen, and all along the river, not just at the upper reaches (i.e. Treffgarne upwards) where I have historically seen them most regularly.
