As well as our German Reed Warbler yesterday there was a good movement of common migrants – hundreds of Swallows, a few Sand and House Martins, 7 Wheatears and 2 Goldcrests. Still up to ten White Wagtails on the North Plain and a Kestrel has been around for a few days now. Approximately 30 Robins and 40 Chiffchaffs.
Balearic Shearwater and Bonxie heading past the lighthouse.
The Gull population has dramatically reduced in the last month or so; counts yesterday of 4 Lesser Black-backs, 50 Greaters and 15 Herring Gulls.
Maximum Canada Goose numbers on the (still dry) North Pond this autumn so far have been about 50, compared to 300 last year. Currently only about a dozen flying in at dusk and leaving before dawn.
Very quiet this morning mind.
