Info Post
A slightly abrupted end to a great week on Skokholm (had to leave a day early due to predicted SW gale) was nevertheless rewarded with the trapping this morning at the well withy-bed of a nice (if rather scruffy) scarlet rosefinch (very tatty primaries). It was released into the courtyard and immediately started tucking into the elderberries - some images below.

We had an excellent week volunteering (mostly labouring!) but managed to ring some birds most mornings for a couple of hours (more than 100 birds processed) and to do a bit of moth-trapping too - a magical place.

Best wishes to all the others vols who helped made our week such a good one - Mark, Ron, Sue, Carol and not forgetting Lewis who gave us plenty of things to do to keep us occupied. Quite sure that other interesting birds are still too come and hope that Wendy, Peter, Rosemary, Mark and others planning to be out there in the coming week or so will also have an equally great time.
