Just completed the census of seabirds on both islands.
Guillemots at record numbers with 996 ind on St M
Razorbills back to mid 1980's levels with 226 ind on St M
Kitts at 315 pairs back to mid 1980's numbers - 406 in 1983 was highest - all sitting
Fulmars down a bit overall but fairly stable - 103 on caldey and 10 on St M.
Shags - record 13 on caldey and 18 on ST M - has been over 25 in the past.
Herring Gulls - signiifcnat decline in virtually every sub colony producing a total of 1740 on Caldey c/w 2096 in 2008 - the first reduction in numbers for some years.
LBB's also declined from 686 prs in 2008 to 484 in 2009
Earliest breeding year ever for Shags - chicks already fledging all over the place.
