On the airfield a tame Bar-tailed Godwit on the flooded runway that not only had the good grace to allow close approach but also stood quite still at times, an essential quality for the opportunistic hand-held-digiscoper that I am. On to the Gann and another 5 Bar-wits (2 on the lagoon, 3 on the beach), and an impressive 31 Knot (1 on the lagoon, 30 in one flock on the beach), along with 7 Dunlin & 7 Ringed Plover. I was hoping for something more exotic somewhere - lots of Pectoral Sandpipers around the country (e.g. 4 together in Cornwall) and a mini influx of Buff-breasted Sandpipers (especially Cornwall, Scilly & Southern Ireland). Get out there!
