A somewhat distant and fuzzy pic of a shag I took at strumble today but it does show its newly grown crest part of the typical breeding plumage. Its a feature that confuses learners because it is often shown in ID books but is in most cases absent by the summer having worn away. Either way itsa nice definate sign of spring on the way!
