Walked the length of the forest at noon today. Very quite apart from two crossbills. When I reached the far side of the forest heard six siskins mobbing a bird that flew overhead in the sun
it looked like a huge wagtail, as soon as it landed I realied it was the Great grey shrike. It was at the top of a young tree about 20feet away and stayed there for 3-4 minutes.
